Quilts
33 years ago I was pregnant with my son Ben and on bedrest. I taught myself to quilt and took on the challenge of making cardboard templates for a quilt design I’d seen in a magazine. I spent months hand piecing precise points. When I came off bedrest I had completed only a quarter of the blocks needed for a finished top. They went into a bin and never came out again until recently. The space between what I was doing then and what I do now is a big one and I have been led to find the spirit of these 33 years in this piece.
